Individual Model Building is the foundation level and it enables participants to use LEGO® bricks to communicate ideas. Imagine if you could plug your brain into a 3D printer, a model you had built would make your thinking visible. Enabling you to quickly communicate complexity and then use your model and story to make your thinking accessible for others. All our classes teach this level including numerous hacks and improvements on the original method.

At Build Level 2, participants creating shared models collaboratively using the ideas from Build Level 1. Shared models enable groups to visualise shared goals or visions. Through telling the story of shared models groups can understand if they share the same meaning of a desired future state. We don’t know of a better method for visioning than shared model building.

All our classes teach this level, and for many facilitators who facilitate short workshops, this level is sufficient. Build Levels 1 and 2 can be learnt in out 2 day classes online or face-to-face.

Build Level 3 enables groups to make systems thinking visible. In our 4 day advanced class we spend the first 2 days learning Build Levels 1 and 2. Then we spend the next two days learning to design and facilitate workshops that use LEGO® Serious Play® for strategic planning, scenario building, and understanding complex systems.

This level is suited for those who have mastered the basics and are looking to apply LEGO® Serious Play®  in more sophisticated and impactful ways.
